Cut

In their natural state, diamonds look like the rock salt you would spread on an icey sidewalk. But in the hands of a Master Diamond Cutter, a diamond becomes the most magnificent gem known to man! A diamond can only perform the way it's cut to perform. Thus, the 4th "C" is the most important factor affecting the diamond quality. The beauty of a diamond is determined by it's cut.

When a diamond is cut to Ideal proportions, all the light entering the diamond is returned to the eye. The end result is a diamond that 'dances' with equal amount of dispersion (rainbow effect), brilliance, and scintillation.

After the Master Cutter is finished, the diamond is graded in Cut categories: Ideal, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Average and Irregular. Detailed micrometer measurements and angles are calculated and compared to an Ideal set of optically proven formulae.

The Gemologists at Wharram's Jewellery are trained professionals who will guide you in the process of choosing the diamond that's perfect for you. Wharram's Jewellery is proud of the diamonds we sell.

Remember, we chose them first!
